Ethics Complaint Filed Against Judge Who Dropped Tiller Charges (without reviewing any evidence): Hearing April 6
TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ A judge who dropped criminal charges against the state's best-known abortion provider is facing an ethics complaint.
Abortion opponents are upset that Sedgwick County District Judge Paul W. Clark dismissed 30 misdemeanor charges against Dr. George Tiller of Wichita. Clark dismissed the case, filed by outgoing Attorney General Phill Kline, for jurisdictional reasons.
The complaint centers on Clark receiving contributions to his 2004 re-election campaign from a law firm representing Tiller and from Sedgwick County D.A. Nola Foulston and her husband. Foulston sought to have Kline's case dismissed.
The complaint is on the Commission on Judicial Qualification's agenda for its April 6th meeting.
